Q – Tell us a little bit about your Shadow Quest series.
Shadow Quest is a unique mix of genres that incorporates paranormal romance, fantasy, and science fiction romance. My characters are based loosely in mythology with some kick-but mythical creatures such as demons, witches, and fey-like beings. Since they’re all from different planets, I suppose they’d be considered aliens.
Each book focuses on the relationship of the hero and heroine and the trust they must build with one another. The connection they form is a slow-burn at first, and then turns combustible. I play with the fated mates theme, but the conflict and mistrust keeps things interesting. Ultimately love wins out in the end, if they can survive the journey.
Q – What order should I read the books in?
Each book can be read in any order and the reader can still follow along, but for the full experience, I suggest the following sequence

- Demon Retribution
- Demon Untamed

Q - What inspired the worlds you created in Shadow Quest, having it take place in space and on different planets?
I’ve always been interested in sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, and mythology. I thought about the kind of romance novels I enjoy reading and what I liked about them the idea that there could be a supernatural world within our own, veiled from sight.
Then I thought, “What if all these creatures were really from different planets?” After that, the world building came naturally.

The downside to this book, and something that some will not like at all, is that this is a recapping of the first three books of the Demon series to go back over all of what transpired between Sonya and Ethan from the beginning. What this means is if Sebastian and Anya had a scene devoted to them, but Sonya and Ethan’s relationship happened to be important in that scene also, then you will sometimes also be reading a repeat of what happened regarding the other characters and not just reading it from Sonya and Ethan’s point of view. You will need to have read books 1 to 3 to understand what is going on as the storyline is only briefly touched on in spurts in order to concentrate on Sonya and Ethan’s relationship. With that said, Sonya was my favorite character during the series, so I loved seeing a book devoted more to her story, and I got a much better view of Ethan after reading this book. I couldn’t put the book down as things got more intense later on (both between them and the war brewing with the Kayadon). This may even be my favorite Demon book so far because of that. I hadn’t read the demon series in a while and didn’t realize how much I missed them all. Hoping to see more books in the future based on the alien races in the story line!Product details

I have decided to give my review here, but, it is on the series as a whole..
I agree with other viewers this particular book was just a rehash of the previous books for 99% of it. Why 5 stars ? Because even those this book was repetitive, and the others were probably 100 pages to long, the entire series was "captivating" . Ms. Fay drew me in from page 1 of the first book to the last page of this book. Suspense, action, romance (hot steamy sex scenes) with a lot of passion. I loved all the secondary characters and the world's the live in. I sincerely hope there are more books in this series. I will buy them all. I also hope they are put into audio book format.
I absolutely love the first three books in the series. In the previous three books, the groundwork had been laid for a hot and steamy story between Ethan and Sonya. I expected there to be some recap of the previous three books to tie the fourth book into the series. However, I did not expect the majority of the book to be a recap. The new part of the story did start until chapter 37. There was a marginal amount of new information introduced periodically in the first thirty-seven chapters. I only give the book three stars because the recap was good, but not necessary. Not really worth the money. At least the first three were available on Unlimited.
LOVE this book! Yes, part of it is rehashing...but it's typically from others' perspectives and additional information is revealed. The series is great, but I have to admit this one is my favorite! The chemistry between Ethanule and Sonya has been awesome throughout the series (since he was introduced). To see them evolve - and the bumps and twists in the road along the way - was fabulous! They are majorly HOT together, too. Really interesting series - it's a different universe with different peoples and Ms. Fay has done a great job of spinning this sci-fi romance series! I've read other books of hers and recommend them as well.
This series should be read in proper order. This series is for adults. Paranormal/sci-fi/romance readers should enjoy it. That being said--this final book was pretty repetitive, since Sonya's HEA primarily takes place after the main storyline has been resolved. And again, there are numerous proofreading errors.
Still, I found the ending good enough that it made the repetition in this installment more tolerable. The characters in this series are wonderfully developed, and the plot was intriguing. And I have hopes that there might be another book in the future, maybe with Rex or the Dragons?
Overall, this was definitely a series worth reading.
Okay, yeah, so this book repeats a lot of scenes from the last 3 books, but they are now in the other character's perspective, so it's a little different. And I thought it would bother me, but it really didn't! Seeing everything from Anya and Ethan's perspective, finally piecing together all of their crazy-hot, hilarious, heart-thumping scenes, was so worth it. And a few of the repeated scenes have more awesome details and hashes out their growing relationship better. And the new scenes are fantastic!! The whole robot fight is pure awesomeness.
AND THE END! OMG THE END! I teared up!! Their journey together was so passionate and emotionally charged that by the ending scenes I was so friggin relieved to have them happy that I almost cried. Ms. Fay wrote a beautiful ending. So worth reading it all!!!
